The endeavor involves collaborating on a theatrical production featuring first-generation immigrant children from South India. This initiative aims to seamlessly integrate the theatrical styles of South India, drawing notably from the amateur theatre traditions of Kerala, and infuse them with elements influenced by both Indian and Canadian cultures. The production will involve participants aged 7 to 15 and will be produced in partnership with Family Kompany, a reputable theatre production company based in Edmonton, known for its engagements with ASSET's kids' camps. The children will engage in a rigorous 12-week rehearsal period, culminating in a performance at a prominent theatre in Edmonton, with subsequent showings at various community events. This project underscores an opportunity to celebrate the immigrant community's rich artistic heritage while nurturing the children's creativity, public speaking, and teamwork skills.
